On Eating Flowers

It seems that when we aren't working, we are talking about food. Pam, in a British accent, is often detailing what we will be eating at the next meal, and it is always WONDERFUL. For example, a couple of days ago, Pam and I ate this for supper:
Homemade veggie burgers, homemade dill pickles, and a salad with flower petals in it.With homemade raspberry vinegarette.

Today we planted 500 annuals into two different plots. It was hard work, but the humidity of the last few days had lifted with the storms of the last two evenings, and there was a gracious breeze. And today is Friday. So Pam and I lived it up and made a salad with flower petals in it again!

I picked a few day lilies...

... and added them to the pansies and calendula that Pam had gathered...

... and much too slowly picked off the petals and added them to the bowl of onions and fresh spinach and lettuce straight from the garden.

And then we had the most beautiful supper of salad and chicken breast and Pam's homemade spelt bread.
It was almost too pretty to eat. But I ate it anyway. It was delicious.

Tomorrow is another day of work. I believe we are finishing up the last few annuals and mulching them and planting wheatgrass and some really tall flower that doesn't like it's roots messed around with that I, at this very moment, forgot the name of. I suppose it's been a long day.

But before I rest my head, I have some BONUS pictures!
Look at the mushrooms that decided to grow amongst the carrots! The nerve of them!

And now for some BONUS BONUS  pictures. A double bonus! if you will.

BABY KITTY! QUEEN OF THE HILLS!

I just love Baby Kitty so much  that I don't really know what to do with myself. Like the grinch, at the end of his story, I think my heart may grow extra large and there won't be room in my chest to contain it.

And with that. Goodnight.
